TQIP Basics for Registry and Performance Improvement Professionals
Overview
This course provides a basic understanding of the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), and the tools needed to be successful in your TQIP role. While this training is designed for new staff participating in all TQIP program levels, it is available to anyone who may benefit from a refresher on foundational TQIP content.
Target Audience
This course is designed for all staff who document, abstract, validate, report, and analyze trauma data. This includes but not limited to:
- Trauma Registrars
- Data Analysts
- Performance Improvement Staff
- Trauma Program Managers
The audience will have a variety of levels of experience.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify key components of the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) and explain how participating centers can use TQIP tools to improve trauma patient care.
- Navigate the National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS) Data Dictionary to accurately apply data definitions and ensure standardized, high-quality trauma data collection.
- Apply the data submission timeline requirements by outlining the steps and deadlines for submitting accurate data to the Trauma Quality Programs (TQP) Data Center.
