Clinical Support Webinar 12.11.24

Overview

This webinar, hosted by the Adult, MBSAQIP and Pediatric Clinical Support Teams, will discuss important programmatic updates, which include updated surgical site infection (SSI) variable definitions, new interactive decision trees, and a new appendix which will be released with the January 2025 Operations Manual Update.  Additionally, will review feedback from the education survey and outline our education plan moving forward.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this webinar you will be able to:

  • Locate the appendix for variable updates and use this document to review all changes made for the variable updates
  • Recognize the updates made to the demographics forms and SSI definitions 
  • Apply the concepts of the SSI definitions (Superficial, Deep, Organ/Space) and utilize the decision trees to determine the appropriate SSI assignment
  • Define the expectations and guidelines for the certification exam
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the future educational opportunities and resources
