NAPBC Standards 101
The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) provides the structure and resources you need to develop and operate a high-quality breast center. Programs that are accredited by the NAPBC follow a model for organizing and managing a breast center to facilitate multidisciplinary, integrated, comprehensive breast cancer services.
NAPBC accreditation provides:
- Public recognition of each accredited center’s commitment to providing quality care and monitoring of outcomes for patients with diseases of the breast.
- Acknowledgment that each NAPBC-accredited breast center has documented standards compliance that meet or exceed national benchmarks.
- Internal and external assessment of breast cancer performance based on nationally recognized standards that demonstrate each accredited center’s commitment to quality.
- Recognition by national health care organizations for the commitment to providing high-quality breast care.
Achieving accreditation allows your patients to be confident that your breast care team includes health care professionals from a variety of disciplines who are committed to working together to provide the best care possible through their entire course of treatment.
