Emergency General Surgery (EGS) SCR Training
The ACS National Surgical Quality Improvement Program® (ACS NSQIP®) Emergency General Surgery Surgical Clinical Reviewer training program provides SCRs with consistent instruction on the intent and importance of capturing both operative and non-operative EGS cases, the EGS data collection process, the EGS specific variables and definitions, and creation and data entry of these specialty cases into the registry platform.

Learning Objectives
After completing this course:
- You will be able to summarize the intent of abstracting and evaluating Emergency General Surgery (EGS) patients.
- You will be able to identify how capturing these patients can help improve the care of the surgical patient population at your facility.
- You will be able to apply the EGS specific sampling method, variables, and definitions.
- You will be able to recognize and abstract EGS occurrences and preoperative risk factors.
A certificate of completion will be provided after course completion.
