As the demographics of injury shift across the country, it is becoming increasingly difficult to learn and maintain technical trauma skills. In particular, difficult but relatively uncommon exposures are becoming difficult to teach. Trauma experts will provide a review of the approach to technically challenging injuries in a step-by-step manner, including the subclavian artery, the popliteal artery, and the retrohepatic inferior vena cava (IVC).
