A wide range of devices are available to assist the surgical patient with oxygenation and ventilation. High-flow nasal cannula and noninvasive ventilation, standard mechanical ventilatory support, and advanced modalities of vent management and extracorporeal support will be discussed by experts in the field with emphasis on indications and contraindications for each therapy.
