CC2019: The Call Bladder: Dealing with the Acute Gallbladder
Surgeons are more frequently evaluating the acute on-call gallbladder in ever older and sicker patients. They may be anticoagulated, septic, or have had numerous abdominal operations. This panel will discuss technical issues in operating upon the thickened and heavily indurated acute gallbladder and alternative strategies to deal with these difficult situations, such as percutaneous cholecystectomy or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
Moderator: Tyler G. Hughes, MD, FACS, Salina, KS
Co-Moderator: Sharmila Dissanaike, MD, FACS, FCCM, Lubbock, TX
