CC2018: Chronic Pancreatitis: What Is the Role of Surgery?
The treatment of chronic pancreatitis is a vexing issue and, despite numerous surgical procedures that are available, there exists no single suitable operation. The rising success of islet cell transplantation after total pancreatectomy offers a potential new avenue for improving the quality of life in this challenging population. This panel will discuss the various surgical options in management of chronic pancreatitis and suggest tailored procedures and selection criteria.
